The independence and impartiality of the Office are fundamental to the discharge of the Police Ombudsman’s statutory functions and as such, it is imperative that the Office appropriately manages all actual perceived and potential conflicts of interest in a clear and consistent manner.
The Conflict of Interest policy defines what is meant by a conflict of interest, assists in identifying conflicts of interest, establishes a procedure for the disclosure of conflicts of interest and provides guidance to employees and those responsible for managing conflicts of interest.
