The Police Ombudsman’s Office has appealed for information about a number of incidents which occurred close to the Loyalist protest site at Twaddell Avenue in north Belfast.
They happened on the evening of Monday 14 October as police dealt with an altercation close to the Ardoyne Ambulance Station.
In one incident a woman fell to the ground after being challenged by a police officer. Another incident is reported to have involved a police officer and an elderly man with a walking stick.
A third incident is reported to have involved a police officer and an elderly man and woman who were holding on to railings. Anyone who saw what has happened is asked to contact the Police Ombudsman’s witness appeal line on 0800 032 7880.
A spokesman for the Police Ombudsmans Office said We are aware that mobile phone video footage of one of these incidents has been posted on YouTube, and we would be keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who may have additional footage.
