The Police Ombudsman’s Office is appealing for witnesses to an incident involving police officers and members of the public close to the junction of Rydalmere Street and the Donegall Road in Belfast on Saturday 6 August 2022.

The incident happened at approximately 7:40pm.
 
A spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen three members of the public being detained by approximately eight to 10 police officers. 
 
“A number of police vehicles and one police van was parked at the junction of Rydalmere Street and Donegall Road at the time.  We would be keen to speak with anyone who saw what happened or recorded footage of the incident on their mobile phone.
