Police Ombudsman investigates Foyle Bridge incident

The Police Ombudsman is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 16-year old male, whose body was found close to the Foyle Bridge in Derry/Londonderry shortly after 9.00am on Thursday 30 July.

The man, who came from the Waterside area of the city, had been reported to the police as missing from home several hours earlier.

The incident was referred to the Police Ombudsman's Office as part of agreed protocol.

The man's family have been informed.
