Police Ombudsman informed about Kilkeel crash

Police Ombudsman investigators have been informed about a collision in Kilkeel in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 23 October).

The collision happened in the Bridge Street area of the town at about 2.45am after a quad bike with two passengers failed to stop for police. It is understood the vehicle then turned a corner and crashed into a wall.

One person sustained serious head injuries and has been taken to hospital.

A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman's Office said: "Police have informed us about the incident. No public complaint has been received but we are continuing to monitor the situation."
