The Police Ombudsman’s Office has appealed for witnesses after a police Land Rover was involved in a collision with an oncoming car on the Glenshane Road near Maghera, shortly after 6am this morning (Monday 4 March 2013).
The female driver of the car, a silver-coloured Volkswagen Golf, has been taken to hospital, but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. Three police officers were also injured.
The Police Ombudsman’s Office was informed about the incident by police, and Police Ombudsman investigators are at the scene.
Collision happened close to Watty Graham's Glen Gaelic Club.
A spokesman said: “The collision happened at around 6.15am on the
“Our investigators are co-ordinating forensic enquiries, photography at the scene, and interviews of witnesses.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen what happened, or who believes they might have information to assist our efforts to establish how this collision occurred.
