The key points from the statistical bulletin are:

The Office received 2,316 complaints between April 2024 and December 2024. This is a 12% decrease in the number of complaints received when compared with the same period last year. It is also the lowest number of complaints received in the first three quarters of the last three years.

'Criminal Investigation' was the most common main complaint factor underlying complaints, accounting for almost three in every ten of complaints received during this time.

The Office received 3,685 allegations between April 2024 and December 2024. This is a 21% decrease in the number of allegations received in the same period of the previous year. It is also the lowest number of allegations received in the first three quarters of the last four years.

'Failure in Duty' was the most common allegation type received, accounting for just under half of allegations received.
