Former 'MET’ Inspector: Policing Divided Societies

An expert on policing and complaints against the police is to give the first in a series of seminars at the Police Ombudsman Office in Belfast.

Peter Kennison is a former Metropolitan Police Inspector who worked in London’s East End and went on to play a major role in its Complaints Investigation Branch.

He is now a lecturer and researcher at Middlesex University where his expertise involves looking at the role of policing in mixed societies.

Mr Kennison’s major research works include “Policing Black People: A Study of Ethnic Relations as seen through the Police Complaints System.

The seminar is the first in a series of occasional seminars on Policing to be held at the Office of the Police Ombudsman.
