Appeal for witnesses to kebab shop incident

The Police Ombudsman's Office has appealed for witnesses to an incident involving police at a kebab shop in Portadown in the early hours of Sunday 8 January 2012.

The incident happened at about 2am after police spoke to a man inside a kebab shop close to the Magowan Buildings in Portadown town centre.

The man was subsequently arrested and taken to a police Land Rover.

Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact the Police Ombudsman's freephone witness appeal line on 0800 032 7880. Investigators are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured video footage of any part of the incident.
