The Police Ombudsman’s Office has appealed for witnesses to an incident in north Belfast last night.

Investigators from the Office are looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the Peters Hill/Carrick Hill area yesterday evening (21st June) between the hours of 8:20pm and 8:40pm and observed an incident involving a police Land Rover following the arrest of a youth.

A senior investigator from the Office said, “We are conducting an independent investigation into what happened last night.  We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area just before half past eight who thinks they may be able to help us, particularly in relation to the events involving the Land Rover.”

He asked any witnesses, or anyone with photographs or mobile phone footage of the incident to call the Freephone number 0800 0327880, or email the Office with information on '[email protected]'.
