Police Ombudsman appeals for information about Omagh Xmas tree incident

The Police Ombudsman's office has appealed for witnesses to an incident which happened in Omagh on the evening the town's Christmas tree lights were switched on.

It happened as police were interacting with a group of teenagers in the Bridge Street area of the town, close to Style Boutique, between 7pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday 23 November.

Anyone who saw what happened, in particular the interaction between police and a female member of the group, is asked to contact the Police Ombudsman's freephone witness appeal line. The number to call is 0800 032 7880.

A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman's Office added: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, and would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who might have used their mobile phone to record video footage of the incident."
